Our Legacy
Project
The Legacy Project is the cornerstone initiative of the Northern First Nations Alliance, created to respond to the ongoing crisis of substance misuse that continues to impact our communities. This project addresses critical gaps in culturally appropriate health, wellness, and recovery services across Northwest British Columbia. It includes the development of a land-based treatment centre, mobile outreach programs, and aftercare supportive housing. By blending traditional knowledge with evidence-based practices, the Legacy Project provides a holistic response to substance misuse, supporting healing, recovery, and resilience. Guided by our Board of Directors, it represents our commitment to creating lasting solutions that strengthen families and communities for generations to come.
Red Road North
Red Road North is the NFNA’s land-based treatment lodge, created to respond to the urgent crisis of substance misuse in Northwest BC. Slated to open before the end of 2025, the lodge will be operated by our service delivery partners, Red Road Recovery, who bring extensive experience in culturally grounded, trauma-informed recovery services. Located at 20047 Highway 16, Red Road North will provide a safe and supportive space for healing, blending traditional Indigenous practices with evidence-based treatment. Services will be inclusive of adults, Elders, family and 2SLGBTQ+ community members, ensuring that all individuals have access to dignified, culturally safe care on their journey to recovery.
Community Outreach
Our Mobile Community Outreach Program is dedicated to bringing health promotion, prevention, and education directly to the Nations and communities we serve in Northwest BC. By traveling into communities, the program increases access to information, resources, and support services that may otherwise be difficult to reach. The outreach team focuses on building awareness around wellness, substance misuse prevention, and healthy lifestyles, while also connecting individuals and families with culturally safe programs and service providers. This community-based approach ensures that knowledge and support are shared where they are needed most, fostering stronger, healthier communities.

Aftercare Supportive Housing
Our Aftercare Supportive Housing Program in Terrace provides a safe and stable environment for individuals continuing their recovery journey after treatment. Located at 3120 Braun Street, Terrace, BC, this program is operated by our service delivery partners. The supportive housing model combines safe accommodations with wraparound supports, including counselling, life skills, and community connection, helping residents build resilience and independence. By offering culturally safe, inclusive spaces for individuals, including Elders, and 2SLGBTQ+ community members. The program ensures that healing continues beyond treatment and that long-term recovery is supported within the community.
